Ik had in februari 2007 niet kunnen denken dat het zo snel zou gaan, het digitaliseren van de patronen. Ik dacht dat dit een kwestie van jaren zou worden. Want uiteindelijk wil een mens ook nog wel eens zelf wat borduren, in plaats van achter de pc te zitten. Dat achter de pc zitten viel achteraf mee, omdat ik zo veel hulp heb gekregen.

Dank zij die hulp van heel veel heel actieve lieve vrouwen is het onverwachts snel gegaan. Bij elk patroon staat de naam van degene die hem voor ons heeft omgezet in de computer. Ik kan het niet vaak genoeg zeggen: zonder deze lieve vrouwen was Tantes Zolder niet het succes geworden dat het werd. Dank jullie wel, allemaal!

Ik heb zo veel leuke berichtjes gekregen op dit blog. Meer dan 330. Er zijn meer dan 194.012 mensen geweest die dit blog tot nu toe hebben bezocht, en samen bekeken jullie 521.374 pagina’s. Gemiddld keken er 9.701 mensen per maand op dit blog.
Tantes Zolder is voor iedereen een positieve ervaring geworden, ik heb ervan genoten. En ik weet jullie ook allemaal. Tot ziens, misschien op een borduur forum, of wie weet in het "echt" ergens bij een beurs, in een handwerkwinkel of bij een handwerkcafe (in Waddinxveen gaat er in november een van start).

Als epiloog voor wie het zich afvraagt: met mijn schoonmoeder gaat het redelijk goed. Zij wordt goed verzorgd in een verpleeghuis dichtbij, zodat we vaak even kunnen aanwippen. Het blijft hartverscheurend dat zij niet zelfstandig meer kan wonen door de dementie.
Met mijn oudste zoon en zijn vrouw gaat het ook goed, zij hebben het fijn samen. En nee, voor zover ik weet word ik nog geen oma.

There is an end to all things. Alas also to the pile of patterns. There were so many of them. And now we have reached the bottom of the pile and they are all here, published on this blog. Free for all to enjoy.

Little did I imagine in February 2007 that digitising all these patterns would happen so fast. I thought it would be a matter of years and years. Because, naturally, I wanted to do other things besides sit in front of a pc (stitching, for instance!). I did in the end, spend not all that much time at the pc, because I got help.

Thanks to the help of very many very kind women who offered to digitise the charts for all of us to enjoy. Each pattern published has the name of the person digitizing next to it. I cannot thank these wonderful women enough: without their help My Aunts Attic would not have become the success it turned out to be! Thank you each and every one !

I have had so  many positive messages  on this blog: over 330. Up till now there have been 194.012 visitors. Together you have viewed  521.374  pages. That is an average of 9.701 per month.
I believe My Aunts Attic has been a positive experience for everyone. I for one have enjoyed it so much. I know you, stitchers, did too. So I am saying "see you" in stead of goodbye. Perhaps we will meet on a forum here or there, or maybe in real life at a stitching fair, a needlework store or a handwerkcafe.. (one is starting in November in Waddinxveen).

Epilogue for who is wondering what happened..
My MIL is doing reasonably well. She is taken care of in a nursing home nearby, so we can visit her often. It remains painful, so painful to see her unable to live on her own, lost in dementia.
My elder son and his wife are enjoying married life. And no, as far as I know, I am not about to become a grandmother just yet..

Flower sampler
Nicole designed a sampler called "My Mothers Garden" and used a number of patterns from My Aunts Attic to do so. She asked permission to publish the chart as a freebie.
